To my dearest Baloo…

I can still remember her weary, needy eyes when she peeked from the backdoor of our house. She was meek and so skinny with a bulging tummy. A helpless, hungry, pregnant, beautiful being that had been abandoned along our street by some ruthless human. How could one do that? And especially when pregnant! Anyway, it was not before long that my brother and I made a warm meal for the poor mom-to-be. Few days passed and she would put on little by little and upon becoming a loving mom, her babies were taken by people who were capable to shower them with love and care. And here she is in the picture below, who was once a quiet trespasser but later a total hyperactive member forever anchored in our home and hearts and we named her Baloo.

To my dearest Baloo…I wish you could read this…

You came into our lives during our toughest times and you have been nothing but a form of joy during those times. You have made us all laugh with your cute actions and drama. You’ve been such an obedient dog and it is sometimes unbelievable how you pose for pictures like a top model. You should know that you were a celebrity on my social media and all my friends and visitors just adored you. When I came home after work, the first thing I looked forward to was see you coming running to the car wagging your tail with excitement. Also won’t forget how you nearly tiptoed into my room in the mornings and kept your paws on my bed to wake me up. But Baloo, what touches my heart most was how you laid down by my side while I was mourning alone beside my father as he gently rested in his coffin. You were one beautiful soul…Sometimes I feel you had a better heart than most humans do.

Four years were you with us. But today, my dearest Baloo, I really do miss you. I hope you are now somewhere happy and having a good new life.
