We don’t always have to join a charity foundation or worry about not being able to do something good thinking of how unaffordable it is going to be. There are little and simple things that cross our paths in our day-to-day lives which actually make us feel really good about ourselves. I’d like to recall some little moments from my life which have made me feel really good during the past few months.
I was quite worried about not being able to offer an alms giving in remembrance of my late father in a proper manner due to COVID restrictions. Plus, I was also somewhat broke by that time. However, my loving husband and I decided to cook a good meal and distribute packs to those who were struggling to make a living during these difficult times. This was a spontaneous idea, but the feeling which we got when people in need came running to us to get the food packs is inexplicable.
Once, we were grocery shopping at a store and we picked up a pack of whole grain bread which was the only pack left on the shelf. As we were about to leave, an old lady came an asked where we got it from, however there was none from it left. We offered what we picked to her and she was like “Are you sure?” we said yes. She said, “Thank you so much, this is the only type that I eat”. She was really, really thankful and it meant a lot to her. We couldn’t have felt better! It costed us nothing at all, but the satisfaction was really great.
I can relate so many such instances and that’s going to take me forever. What I’m trying to say is you don’t necessarily have to be a wealthy person to help another…kindness can be the your greatest wealth. You are a wealthy person as long as your heart is rich in kindness, rich in caring and rich in empathy. I hope anyone who reads this will remember little things from their day-to-day lives and have a great day ahead! Thanks for reading!
