Dunes of Dubai

Although the word desert kind of gives you this total warm, unbearable heat sort of impression, a desert safari in the evening would be one of the coolest experiences you could have. It was 2018. The safari began during a January evening (which apparently is one of the best times to visit Dubai) and we were picked up by an escort from team Arabian Adventures. The roads that ran through nothing but barren deserts on either sides was actually a beautiful sight. The safari would start with a short eagle show displaying some sharp skills of a trained eagle. And then came along the cool dune bashing ride which was super fun if you are someone who loves some thrill and action (but not so fun for those who can get nausea soon). The sunset will be the time where you get a short break from the bashing to capture one of the most beautiful sunsets that you will ever witness. It’s beautiful how the the sun throws its beautiful oranges and yellows to the sand that makes a perfect golden bed to sink in and end the day. At this point I was comparing the sunset at sea, how the sun seems like it is submerging itself into the beautiful blue waters and this time into golden brown sand. How differently beautiful the same single sun creates two pieces of art and color on Earth at the same time! So yes, after enjoying a good view you get to feel the cool, soothing sand beneath your feet (where I secretly wished I could take some sand home, but it’s a NO) and the breeze was so comforting. You won’t regret wearing your jumper or hoodie as it gets colder towards the night. If you observe well, you could see how tiny grains of sands are being gushed away slowly and rhythmically by the wind and it was like a slow motion meditation moment.

That ends the break and back to more bashing until we reached the last stop — the Margham Desert Camp and what to expect from here would be- a buffet of authentic food and beverages, belly dancing, photograph time in their traditional costumes, watch the crafty souvenirs being made from sand, camel riding and yippee…sandboarding! So you can chill the night away, make yourself indulge in one “Arabian Night” sort of night until it is time to leave and by then you will be dead tired and sleep all the way back to the hotel.
